Baked Apples tossed in maple syrup and served with spiced yogurt and granola. Easy and healthy dessert, snack or breakfast!
Fall is in the air! Well, sort of. It’s still pretty warm here but I can dream can’t I?
What’s the weather like where you’re at? I’d like to think that making anything with pumpkin and apple will entice mother nature to turn summer into fall. 🙂 So that’s exactly what I’m doing.
So, apples. Have you ever tried baking apples before? It makes them crisp-tender and absolutely delicious. Adding a little spiced yogurt and granola on the top is like icing on the cake.
I’m all about desserts. I love having a little something sweet after dinner. This would also be good for breakfast or a snack, too.
You will love the flavors of the maple coated apples, cinnamon and nutmeg yogurt and crunchy granola. Not only is it delicious but it’s healthier too, with 6 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein per serving!
Ingredients
- 4 apples cored and cut into 8 slices
- 3 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 1/2 Tbsp. butter melted
- 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup lowfat granola
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400º F. Place apples, maple syrup, and butter in a 9x13" pan. Toss until apples are well coated. Roast, stirring occasionally until apples are crisp-tender, about 20 mins.
- Meanwhile, whisk together yogurt, cinnamon and nutmeg. When apples are finished cooking, spoon into bowls, sprinkle with granola and top with yogurt. Serve and enjoy!
Yum I love spiced apples! All these fall flavors are getting me excited. I’m usually not a fan of the cold weather but all this great food will help me get over that quickly! This would be an amazing dessert that wouldn’t make me feel to guilty over at all! Thanks for sharing.
I’m a baby when it comes to cold weather but food makes it so much better! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Sam!
Healthy, delicious and satisfying the sweet tooth. Blessings, Catherine

This sounds perfect Jen and the perfect fix for a sweet tooth!
What a great easy idea!
So healthy! And so yummy!
What a great way to start the day. I might also try this in the microwave on the busy days.
Our fall weather has arrived and I couldn’t be happier! Baked apples are one of our favorite apple treats and the yogurt and granola additions are genius – healthier alternatives to ice cream and crumble without sacrificing flavor!
Nice and easy. Thanks Jen.
