Speaker friends! Let's talk about our speaking topics. How do you develop or update your topic for presentations? Here are some possible ways to help you decide: ✅ Passion and Personal Knowledge ✅ Audience Interest ✅ Relevance to your Target Clients ✅ News, Trends, Emerging Issues, and Industry Insights ✅ Niche Topics and Unique Subjects ✅ Audience Impact ✅ Timeliness Over time, we need to evolve our topics by taking feedback, research, collaboration, and continuous learning into account. My main talk is "LinkedIn for Personal Branding (TM)" and is also the title of my book. Now I have a new talk called "From Mindshare to Market Share (TM)" which will be my primary keynote. What about YOU? How do you develop your topics? What is YOUR talk called? Sandra Long #linkedin #speaker #keynotespeaker

Love this post Sandra Long. I have updated my presentations in a couple of ways. First, I created a whole new burnout presentation geared towards managers and leaders called BANISH ORGANIZATIONAL BURNOUT. Second, I created a new presentation geared towards STEM WOMEN since that is my background and I talk about stories from my career that impact career women to help them navigate their career journey while also preventing burnout. That one is called Empower STEM Women: Strategies to Navigate Your Career and Banish Burnout.

Here's how I develop my presentation topics: All of the above, PLUS making sure that it is actually doable in the amount of time I have.

My latest talk is "The Superwoman Trap: Success on Your Own Terms without Needing to Be Perfect or Thin". It certainly checks a few of the boxes you outline here Sandra Long! Another talk I have in the works is safe visibility for ambitious leaders. I want to offer folks a way to move to the next level by getting themselves "out there" with feeling like they need to be a perfect version of themselves.

Great post and question, Sandra! I have two key talks. The first, similar to the title of my book, is: "Visual Leadership: How Leaders Can Leverage the Power of Visual Thinking." And the second, which is one of the hottest topics out there these days, is "How to Manage and Lead in Today's Post-Pandemic, Hybrid World." Thanks for asking!

Thank you, excellent; I will use this to hone my title. I love your new title! I name each talk based on the audience (not sure how smart that is). What I'd like to call it is something like this, Want better and more sustainable results? Try Gratitude.

Yes, all of the factors you listed Sandra Long. One more is that the audience is often not the same as the buyer, so client impact is also important.
