Unstoppable. Yup. That is the word used by Events Expert and Leader Julius Solaris earlier this week. He was commenting on the potential impact of LinkedIn at an event. I ❤️ that he used that word because I too have witnessed the momentum firsthand. Here are just a few quick examples: ✅ Pre-Show Excitement: An organizer or planner posts on LinkedIn in advance about the programming, speakers, agenda, venue, city, and sponsors, with real-life and relevant perspectives and tips using the event hashtag. These are tips and insights you wouldn't necessarily find on the website. It's more like advice from one friend to another. ✅ Connecting Deeper: An attendee sends out connection requests to speakers, sponsors, and other attendees BEFORE the event. They exchange helpful messages about the conference. A few onsite meetings are pre-arranged. At the conference, the attendee uses the LinkedIn mobile app QR code for newer immediate connections but she is sure to follow up later to extend the conversation. ✅ Attraction During Show: A sponsor snaps pics and takes videos at their booth and then posts every day on LinkedIn. These are friendly helpful and inspirational. Even though he has a booth to attract customers, the posts are about real people having real conversations and having fun too. ✅ Learning Focus and Visibility: An attendee writes a long-form event recap article on LinkedIn. She is sharing the special insights from the event and bringing it to life. She @mentions specific speakers, sponsors, and attendees as bringing value and why. She gets lots of comments and additional insights. ✅ Expanded Networking and Visibility: A speaker connects with all the other speakers and they support each other with comments and just generally being a friend. In addition, he connects with the sponsors and attendees before, during, and after the event. ✅ Gratitude. A speaker creates a "gratitude" post (with image) on LinkedIn to thank the meeting planner or client. The main crux is focusing on how amazing the event was and how that person contributed to the success. OH GEEZ I could go on and on. Just remember that the potential is limitless, unstoppable, and really quite a bit of fun too. Please feel free to share your examples or ideas....... #linkedin #events #unstoppable Sandra Long
He says it the best “Events provide the connection humans are craving for.” Especially now, we’re falling head over heels for anything that looks even remotely cool and interesting to be a part of.
LinkedIn has emerged to be the most powerful business communication medium in 2023. Thx Sandra Long
Thanks for sharing this with us Sandra Long, really interesting examples.
Unstoppable 2024 and beyond
Great list! In addition let's also add to the list all the things you can do afterwards with LinkedIn, such as posting insights and photos Sandra Long. Many speakers, trainers, and consultants do this and it really adds depth to understanding what they do and the impact they have on others.
When networking the show Sandra Long be sure to have your lock screen set with your LinkedIn QR code and contact. You can customize it too because 33% of any QR code is redundant. So much more interactive than a paper card. Here's mine as a template others can use. United We All #KeepRockingLinkedIn! Kevin On a Mission to Eliminate Organizational & Personal Blanding™
Sandra Long these are great ideas and I'll implement some of these for my 2024 events for sure! Thank you!!
These are excellent examples!
I love that word, "unstoppable!" Fun fact, I was voted "unstoppable" in high school. 😂
