This program is read by the author, world-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Bringing his cosmic perspective to civilization on Earth, Neil deGrasse Tyson shines new light on the crucial fault lines of our time—war, politics, religion, truth, beauty, gender, and race—in a way that stimulates a deeper sense of unity for us all.

In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science.

After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

With crystalline prose, Starry Messenger walks us through the scientific palette that sees and paints the world differently. From insights on resolving global conflict to reminders of how precious it is to be alive, Tyson reveals, with warmth and eloquence, an array of brilliant and beautiful truths that apply to us all, informed and enlightened by knowledge of our place in the universe.

There is really nothing deep about the book.

The topics analyzed do not provide any interesting insight or are just wishful thinking. Talks about how going to space changes the perspective of life. Yet, this happened during the Vietnam War and no astronaut is known to have come back from space to stop war or to go against their government.

Then, we have the gender spectrum chapter describing one thing but defending something completely different in real life. If the spectrum is based on feeling more of a woman or a man, then what is the goal of wanting to use different nouns or forcing other people of using other nouns (some completely made up).

This is a garbage audio-book. But, I have to say that Neil is a really good reader. Great Performance on that.
I would rather get my credit back than writing this review!

Super!

Ce livre est très intéressant pour remettre en perspective notre histoire le présent et notre futur. Un peu comme le livre Sapiens, mais un peu plus philosophique. La narration par l’auteur lui-même est parfaite.

The sheer arrogance and narcissism is hard to stomach at times.

The man writes a book on bias yet refuses to investigate or discuss his own. The gull to suggest that scientists are not subject to ethical, political, financial, and intellectual bias is completely unfounded. The man speaks as if he is above the human condition and immune to these elements. Meanwhile his left leaning political ideology permiates his book.

Great audio book!

A very interesting perspective. I don’t know much about astrophysics, but every time I listen to Neil, I always walk away learning something new.
