Great example of a pre-newsletter CTA from Last Money In Notice: - Extremely strong hook - Value in post itself (not just teasing) - CTA to subscribe in the comments If you have a newsletter, these should be a staple in your content calendar. No questions asked.
Matt - i’m not sure I agree. We have the #1 personal wealth management newsletter called Noyack Wealth Weekly; just hit 160 K subscribers. you want to know what the most successful method of acquiring subscribers was? A brief, well designed pre-newsletter teaser every Friday at 4:30 PM. When you’re writing substantial topics like financial education and you’re doing it under 1000 words every Sunday, then writing a post of another 500 words isn’t optimal. https://wealth.wearenoyack.com/noyack-wealth-weekly-subscribe
Is it mandatory to put the link in the comments? Personally I find it quite goofy
AP is a great writer - copy, content and all. Possibly one of the most underrated skills in business.
Adding value upfront like this is key to building trust and showing the benefits of subscribing.
I cannot agree more with the second point, I often see people drop lead magnets Wwithout adding much value on the post itself first to leave readers wanting more, and then the lead magnet doesn't function as expected. You have to warm up to your readrs from the first glance itself before waiting for them to click
