Premium LinkedIn users can now use AI to write ✍️ the About sections of their profiles. Of course, I tried it. Now if you know me, you know that I am exceedingly positive 😊 about 80%+ of what they do. However, this feature was very disappointing. 😭 Honestly, AI could not do this task as well as YOU can do it yourself. In my test, the result included old and outdated info about me.......and had none of my personal 💁♀️ voice or brand. No personality. It was like a boring bio of old data. .....Of course, I should have expected this based on the fact that AI just pulls from the internet. Have YOU tried this feature? Will you try it? What about AI writing elsewhere? Has it worked for you in other applications? I have been successful when asking ChatGPT to rewrite or reword something that I already wrote. I look forward to hearing about your experiences. #linkedin #ai # Sandra Long Post Road Consulting: LinkedIn and Social Selling Training
I was disappointed, Sandra Long. In a pinch it might help people that have zero info. It could use some improvement in storytelling and making it unique among others. I'm looking forward to version 2 upgrade to be more effective. 🤷♀️
Thanks! Good point, we must personalize; it's our differentiation. Not being a premium member, I can't try it. AI is moving so fast that my guess is to try it again in six months, and it may be different. Also, learning how to use AI will be where future jobs are. For example, did you ask it to regenerate? Was there an option ask it to write with a voice (casual, funny, business professional)? Where was it pulling data from, that would make a difference too. pondering thoughts :)
As a matter of interest, I tried it but decided to stick with my original profile :). I have used it for blog posts and have been happy with the results. I mainly use it for ideas and edit it to make it my own voice.
I do not have access to this, however I did utilize AI in a new post recently. I was pleased with the results. I am still guarded on the utilization of this, but progress is a positive thing.
I tried ChatGPT. I am using it to help me proof read and give suggestions where to shorten my posts. It is good to suggest a structure. But it's not good at keeping my voice. I research with it, I write my own copy, I ask for suggestions, I made the adjustments myself again. Then it's good.
I was prompted to use the AI feature recently, but was not able to make it work. Thank you for your assessment of it Sandra Long! Very helpful.
Thanks Sandra Long Not used this feature yet. However, while this bit of Microsoft kit might not do the job, between Bing and ChatGPT you’ll probably get a good enough version to edit. Asking ChatGPT to “refine” the output two or three times will help.
My love-hate relationship with ChatGPT continues. I’ve used it several times. I believe that AI will be extraordinarily time saving and useful in the near future. But for me, not yet. In this early phase I find it generates either a bland robotic result or excessive flowery lengthy descriptions. I think the better results come with improved, detailed prompts. Once I polish that new skill, I am optimistic it will be a valuable tool/timesaver. I would say the one task it does well for me is take a single paragraph or sentence and present tighter, more succinct version.
I deal with AI as a smart assistant but slow in understanding, I have to set a frame about contents, what to start with, what to be at the middle and what to finish with. The results is very good compared to just open sentence without any boundaries! As the AI will always add its touch-up which may not related at some time.
