VOLUNTEER ANY TIME

CEO RELAY RACE
Volunteers help students make connections between educational choices and career paths by sharing their personal academic and career tracks, skills needed for their current job, what their job entails, and tips for pursuing that career path. During the “relay race” each volunteer has 5 minutes to speak with a small group of students. Students then have 5 minutes for questions. Volunteers rotate groups sharing their journey until they have visited every group of students. Works best with 2-5 volunteers.

OFFICE VISIT
Volunteers host a group of 15-20 students at their office. Volunteers take students on a tour, explain all the various jobs and positions that allow the company to operate (sales, marketing, IT, finance). A Career Panel or CEO Relay Race can be included as part of the visit.

WONDER KITS
Volunteers work with a small group of students to assemble a Wonder Kit. Wonder Kits are hands-on, challenge-based STEM and creative kits. Volunteer encourage and empower students, helping them build a growth mindset. Kits include: Create-A-Pult, Poster Coaster, Balloon Bowling, and more. Works well for 3 to15 volunteers.

Many ASAS 8th graders prepare throughout the late winter to apply to selective high schools in their cities. Volunteers help coach them through the application process during workshops that focus on essay writing, completing the application, and prepping for an interview. Works best with 2-5 volunteers. Workshops take place in select ASAS markets.

HOOP HEROES CAMP
Hoop Heroes Spring break camp is a week-long youth leadership and mentoring program. During Hoop Heroes students are paired with mentors who leverage basketball to help build a natural connection. Alongside volunteers, students learn basketball skills while also participating in leadership activities. No basketball experience required! Hoop Heroes Camps take place in select ASAS markets.

SPORTS TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER
Many ASAS cities have annual sports-themed tournaments where volunteers can sign up to participate and/or help with event logistics like set-up and registration. Tournaments include: Dodgeball, Cornhole, and Hoop-A-Thon Free-throw Fundraiser. Volunteers can sign up as individuals or as a corporate team. Fundraisers vary by ASAS market.
