I’ve had this thing for almost 2 years now and have loved it all the way through! Unfortunately, after two years of very regular use, it seems to have reached the end of its lifespan. A few months ago was the first time something snapped off of it. It was the locking mechanism. That was a little obnoxious because I often had to readjust the blades between chops, but I was able to use it for a few more months before it received its deathblow. I’m guessing that the problem was that after so much use, the blades eventually went dull, along with constantly slamming it down, it eventually became to much. The last couple times I’ve used it. It’s had trouble cutting through half a bell pepper and then 3 small sticks of celery (which it normally didn’t flinch at) . It pushed the celery halfway through and I couldn’t pull them out without cutting myself, so the only solution was to keep trying to whack it down. Finally, my husband came over with his muscles and finally got it through, but after three more rounds with just one celery stick each, the lid broke off altogether and is now beyond repair. With all that being said, I absolutely recommend this product and I am back here, purchasing a new one. I had a friend that bought a different brand and she said she wasn’t impressed, the blades weren’t very sharp and so they had to push down really hard and just ended up not using it. With that in mind, I am taking my bets with this one again.In conclusion, it’s not going to last forever, but for the price ($20 for the 2 in1 set) and how much use I get out of it, I definitely would be willing to buy this every couple of years if needed !Update: I received my new one. I’m not sure if the company has just made a couple of updates in the last two years or if it’s cause I ordered the 2 in 1 this time instead of the 4 in 1 that I’ve had for the last two years. I wanted to included a small video of the cool little improvement they made (to the 2 in 1 at least). This is going to make cleaning it so much easier! I also noticed the blades aren’t as obscenely sharp, we’ll see if that makes a difference in its lifespan or not, but it didn’t seem to cause any issues with ease of use thus far. And my last observation is that it’s a tad smaller than my previous one, but also does not bother me much. Overall, I am still very pleased with this product.
