I love a great newsletter sign-up page — and what Tom Alder’s created for the Strategy Breakdown newsletter is an example everyone can learn from. Five things I love about this sign-up page: 1.) In the headline, he lays out a clear value proposition for the newsletter. 2.) He uses bullets, bolding, and repetition to drive home that value prop. 3.) He showcases the product, using an animated GIF, to illustrate the types of companies you’ll be learning about. 4.) He offers social proof that his newsletter is valuable by sharing the list size and the types of companies where he has readers. 5.) He compresses all of this — the CTA and social proof — into a single, shareable unit for LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social platforms.
It’s amongst the best well designed landing pages
That’s a great example for a newsletter sign up page. Thanks, Dan! May I feature this in my online library aka „Rock your email Collection“? I would, of course, name you as the source and insert links.
Great example! One question for the group: Does anyone have recommendations for a good/simple landing page service that allows you to quickly create a sign-up page? I run a newsletter (Potomac Tech Wire) on Substack, which unfortunately doesn't allow for any customization of the main landing page.
Love that last bit of compressing it into the featured image, so it pops up when people link to it 👀
Great share Dan. 1) and 3) are my favorite. Is there anything else that he is missing though? Or would you say these are the top 5 that hold the most value and adding anything else might hurt its intent?
