JustRead Tours Blog Tour: SunRise Reef by Irene Hannon

Sunrise Reef JustRead Takeover + Review Blitz

Welcome to the Takeover + Review Blitz for Sunrise Reef by Irene Hannon hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Sunrise Reef
Title: Sunrise Reef
Series: Hope Harbor #11
Author: Irene Hannon
Publisher: Revell
Release Date: April 1, 2025
Genre: Contemporary Christian Romance

Sometimes you have to look beneath the surface to find the treasure within

After years of searching, Bren Ryan has found her place in Hope Harbor. Working as a barista suits her to a T, as does the laid-back vibe of her adopted town. Nothing is lacking in her life--except romance. But that's okay. Men are a complication she doesn't need.

Buttoned-up CPA Noah Ward isn't looking for love, either, when he arrives in town on a mission to convince his father to move closer to him. And he certainly doesn't intend to fall for the quirky, free-spirited woman who's taken up residence in his father's guest cottage.

But when Noah finds himself sucked into Bren's quest to help a struggling teen, might the two of them discover there's more to each other than meets the eye?

Christian Romance Fiction books are a genre that I love. Sunrise Reef by Irene Hannon is Book 10 in the Hope Harbor series. I read Book 10 in this series and I have been awaiting the release of this book.

WOW, there is so much too love about this book. The setting is a return to Hope Harbor, Oregon.  The main characters of this book are Bren Ryan and Noah Ward. Bren feels life is good for her in Hope Harbor, the town she has grown to love. She loves her job as a Barista, loves the little place that she just moved to due to a fire at her previous rental and helping others. Noah Ward comes to town to check in on his Dad and to talk him into moving closer to Noah. Noah is a CPA and seems to be "too busy" for others. He unexpectedly meets Bren when he lets himself into his Dad's Guest Cottage. Bren is staying there and he was unaware. Noah and Bren had a rough start, but they begin to learn about each other. I really LOVE who Bren is beginning to help an 18yr old girl, Emma, with getting her life in order. Noah decides to help Emma and her 16yr old brother also. I felt that was really heartwarming as he is always too busy for others. Bren has a strong faith and it really is wonderful to see her live out her faith.  The book is one of  family, faith, and  love. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Romance. WONDERFUL BOOK!

Youth dystopian Christian Fiction genre is not a genre that I normally read. I have begun to enjoy this genre over the last year or so. Reunion Crossings by Terry Overton is Book 7 in the The Underground Book Readers series. I have read a few books in this series and have enjoyed this series greatly.

WOW, this book captivated me from the first chapter. The main characters in this book are Leena, Kahn, Casey, and their Book Readers. The group was very determined to make it to the FREE Land and be reunited with their family. They have a lot of challenges to make it to their destination, but they turn to God to help them. The focus on teaching the young ones about God's Word was encouraging and beautiful. I LOVE how this book is very focused on God's Word and very Biblically sound. I am sad that this is the last book in the series. It has been a fun and interesting series to read.  I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone, Middle School on up to Adults!  AMAZING BOOK and Series!

In The Underground Book Readers series, one of the main characters is on the autism spectrum yet is one of the leaders of the group of teens. Book one of a new series, The Messiah Brigade, features an awkward middle school nerd who helps his school turn around a bully gang of kids. Adoption and family issues are the focus of her new book, Charlotte McMaster and the Messenger Angel.

More from Terry

This book is book seven of The Underground Book Readers series. The series was inspired by talking with librarians about the concept of book banning and how Christian books are no longer predominantly displayed in school or community libraries. The series is designed to place kids in a different world where many things we take for granted or no longer available: books, schools, churches, freedom, and even parents. The book series stresses Christian family values and weaves Scripture in with the dystopian action-adventure series.

This book is being used in homeschool classrooms and church schools. A learning guide and free worksheets will soon be available to guide parents and teachers through the series.

Christian Historical Fiction is one of my favorite genres. Land of Dreams by Lauraine Snelling with Kiersti Giron is the most recent book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 1 in the Home to Green Creek series.

I began reading this book and I knew I couldn't put it down anytime before I finished the book. The setting is 1888, Norway to America. The main characters in this story are Amalia Gunderson, Ruth and Absalom Karlsson. Amalia is a Norweigan immigrant who is making her way to America. Ruth is a 5yr old girl whose mother dies aboard the ship going to America. Amalia also lost her parents on the ship to America. She honors Ruth's mom wishes and takes Ruth on the journey to Iowa with her and care for her. Amalia and Ruth arrive in Iowa to begin cleaning up the boarding house that Ruth has inherited. Trials and Tribulations await them as they try to settle into life in Iowa. Amalia finds a friend in Absalom Karlsson. I really LOVE that Amalia finds faith in turning to God to help them overcome the obstacles they are facing. The relationship between Absalom and Amalia was heartwarming. I really LOVE how the book focuses on Immigration and the History of those times.  The book is one of Faith, History, Family and Relationships. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction. FANTASTIC BOOK!

More from Lauraine

Different stories come about different ways.  One of the things I’ve learned through these years of writing is the value of slowly waking up and paying attention to what was going on in my mind. I saw a young woman standing at the railing of a ship tossing on rough seas. A gray day. And I heard the splash as her father’s body sank into the waves. I sniffed, mopped my eyes and settled back, hopefully to sleep awhile longer. But the dream, if that was what it was, continued. A little girl named Rut, or Ruthie, joined Amalia at the rail, slipped her hand into the young woman’s and asked if she could please come, her mother wanted to see her. And my internal game of what if continued for these people on a cholera attacked ship from Norway to Amerika.

I knew a new story had begun but had no idea where it was going. As I said, I treasure that time between sleeping and waking when I can part the curtains to my subconscious mind and see what it has been playing with. What a gift God has created in us.

Around about the same time, something brought a story that one of my aunts on my father’s side told me when I asked her what she remembered of her growing up years. Auntie Harriet chuckled and asked, “Have you heard of the rutabaga years?” I shook my head and settled in to listen. They were a family of eleven children, my dad being the eldest, they lived in a big two story house with a huge garden, a flock of chickens and bad weather. Late spring freeze, early fall freeze and much of the produce killed off. All but the root crops, and rows of rutabagas. Many were dug and stored in the cellar, lots left in the ground, to be dug up later. Rutabagas can be fried, boiled, mashed, grated, turned into soup and stew, mixed with other vegetables, added to pancakes, even turned into pie. Ah, yes, the rutabaga years, Auntie Harriet said she didn’t particularly care for rutabagas for a long time after that. But in the mean time, they became part of Amalia and Ruthie’s new life at a big house Ruthie inherited in Green Creek. North and West of Decorah Iowa in 1819. Come join a delightful cast of characters in Land of Dreams.

I have always been a fan of Non-Fiction book as I feel they are helpful and insightful. The Author's AI Toolkit: From Concept to Publication by Hank Quense is the latest book in this genre that I have read.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) isn't something that I was intersted in, I was actually trying to avoid it. A few months ago my interest was peaked and I started to really look into what AI can do in this modern technology era. I was given the opportunity to read this book and I immediately wanted to read it.

WOW, this book starts off rather interesting and only gets better throughout the book. The book is targeted towards Author's, Writers and Publishers. The book is divided into 5 sections:
Planning
Writing
Publishing
Marketing
Author Business

The author delves into each section and explains really well how AI is an asset to Authors and many aspects of writing books. AI can take what could take a year or more to write and help the authors streamline the writing process as well make corrections for the author along the way. The author was able to put a lot of valuable information in a Short book. The book is definetly one that I would recommend to anyone who would use AI. GREAT BOOK!
