LinkedIn is a supportive 😀 professional environment. At least that is what I have observed. One of the best things we can do is congratulate someone else for a professional accomplishment. And LinkedIn is the best place to do this! Here are a few ways we can do this: (and please add your ideas) ✅ Create a post or article with an @ mention ✅ Comment on the posts about the achievement ✅ Send a private direct message offering congratulations ✅ Better yet, send an audio or video note of congrats ✅ Endorse your connection for that very skill ✅ Write a LinkedIn recommendation about the achievement and the person ✅ Think about a good introduction for this person........ and make it using LinkedIn messaging ✅ Interview your friend on a Live or Audio show. OR interview them for your LinkedIn newsletter. ✅ ✅ ✅ "Be the Friend First" What did I miss? How can you congratulate someone on LinkedIn? Sincerely, Sandra Long Post Road Consulting: LinkedIn Consulting and Training
Thank you for your insights Sandra Long about LinkedIn branding techniques. It's especially important inside the IT and Cybersecurity industry.
I love it when someone curates high value posts on a particular topic and shares them. Stephen Mostrom's Develop Daily is a great example of this.
It's a great list and great reminders! Maybe another way is to share their content or accomplishments. ?
Engaging with your connections content is definitely one of the best way to be supportive. Had not thought about the audio/video note, what an awesome recc Sandra!
These are all such excellent recommendations, Sandra Long, and I've done almost all of them. One that I haven't yet done is to interview my friend for my LinkedIn newsletter. My friend and I had been talking about writing a guest article for each other's LinkedIn newsletter. But I rather like the interview concept better, so will run that idea for him.
All are excellent suggestions Sandra Long. Is Linkedin Live Video now open to all?
Sandra Long, Indeed! It's not about you! Give someone else a shoutout. Shed the light on someone else's accomlishments, valuable contributions or good work. 🌟
Helpful suggestions and reminders Sandra Long. I try to congratulate people when they leave a job, not just when they get one, even (or especially) if it wasn't their choice. So often leaving a job opens up all sorts of new opportunities.
Great tips, Sandra Long! As a big book-reader, one of my favorite ways to help amplify others is to do a visual shout-out for the author while holding their book...like this one I did for your terrific book! 😉

11moSandra Long perfect ideas - in addition - I subscribe to my clients trade publications and local business journals read them each day and when I see my friends and clients getting recognized for new jobs are on board I take a picture of my phone and I send it to him via email. This seems more personal to me. In addition every morning I start my day by giving away free hugs, I wish people happy birthday. I congratulate them on their new job and I send a special piece of artwork that I do to make it more personal. Thanks for your good work in lifting up all.
