"Diverse perspectives - united vision" was the motto of the Female Founders Night a couple of weeks ago - and it was super cool to see so many different female founders coming together 🔥 Once a year, the Zeppelin University invites female founders to inspire their students and show them how important it is for us females to go out and do our thing - without holding back. And while we spoke a lot about the underrepresentation and higher structural challenges for females in the industry because it's important to raise awareness for this issue - for me, personally - it was also super important to not just focus on the challenges and let these young women leave with the feeling that they will have it really hard because of their gender. Instead, I wanted to emphasize the strength and potential that come from being a female founder: Yes, there are barriers, but we also bring fresh perspectives, resilience, and innovation to the table that can really drive change. It’s about recognizing both the reality and the opportunity. We need to inspire young women to see their gender not as a setback, but as part of what makes them unique and capable of thriving in leadership roles ✨ #saleslove

The Invisible Chains of Bias: Professional Haters of Women Leaders in Higher Education—— In the realm of higher education, where knowledge and enlightenment are supposed to reign supreme, an insidious force often undermines progress: the professional haters of strong women leaders. These individuals, who despise women in positions of power for no reason other than their gender, are like termites gnawing at the foundation of a grand institution. Imagine a sprawling, majestic university campus. It stands as a symbol of human achievement, a beacon of learning and advancement. Yet, beneath its polished exterior, termites work tirelessly, unseen and unchecked, slowly eroding its stability. These professional haters are much like these termites. They operate covertly, cloaking their bias in the guise of critique and tradition. Their actions and attitudes, though often subtle, are pervasive and damaging. These critics often argue that their disdain is rooted in objective reasoning, citing supposed deficiencies in leadership or compatibility with institutional culture. However, a closer examination reveals that these claims frequently lack substance and are disproportionately leveled at women leaders. The reality is that these women face undue scrutiny and higher standards compared to their male counterparts, reflecting deep-seated biases rather than legitimate concerns. The impact of this bias is profound. It stifles innovation, as talented women are discouraged from pursuing leadership roles. It perpetuates a culture of inequality, where merit is overshadowed by prejudice. It also erodes the morale of women who aspire to lead, creating an environment where they must constantly prove their worth in the face of unfounded criticism. To combat this, it is crucial to shine a light on the biases that fuel this unwarranted hatred. Institutions must implement policies that promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all leaders are judged by their abilities and achievements, not their gender. Moreover, allies within the academic community must speak out against this prejudice, supporting their female colleagues and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. Just as a building's foundation must be protected from termites to ensure its longevity, the higher education system must address and eradicate these biases to uphold its integrity and mission. Only by confronting and overcoming the unwarranted hatred of strong women leaders can we hope to create a truly equitable and progressive academic world. #highereducation #studentaffairs #DEIB

Parity in education is just the starting point. I’m honored to be featured in this Fortune article on the increasing enrollment of women in top MBA programs. My time at The Wharton School equipped me with the skills to build and scale successful businesses. But we need to move the conversation beyond who’s attending business school to how women are progressing in the corporate world after they graduate. Today, only 11% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women.
