How confident are you in the legitimacy of other LinkedIn users? Are you concerned ☹️ about the issue of fake profiles and potential scams? The issue of fake profiles has been growing and now LinkedIn is addressing it. Now LinkedIn has a 🎉 NEW FEATURE to help us assess the value of a profile. The feature is called "About this Profile." Use it to find out when the profile was created; and whether the ☎️ phone and email data have been verified. Initially available on the profile, you will also be able to view this info in an invitation or message. (See the profile example in the image below) LinkedIn also uses advanced technology to detect phony AI-generated images too. Expect to see warning signs ⚠️ for suspicious activity as well. Of course, we ALL need to help fight this issue on Social Media. Be sure to report and block any suspicious users. Let's not just ignore them any longer. #linkedin #security #SandraLong Sandra Long Post Road Consulting: LinkedIn and Social Selling Training
This is good to detect some fake profiles. However, there are LinkedIn users who are not comfortable using their work email to identify themselves. And it might be a smart move due not wanting to compromise their work email or just simply personal preferences. I normally get sales pitches from strangers. Prevention is always better than reacting to incidents.

I have definitely seen an increase in "sock puppet" accounts which in turn seems to have increased the amount of "spam" inmail I get. Good to know MS/LinkedIn is trying to defeat it.
I applaud LinkedIn for investing in data security by verifying LinkedIn profiles. As the Cyber war rages on, companies need to continue to step up and protect our data.
This is a huge step forward for LinkedIn. A verification will certainly make for a better user experience. Now we just need the masses to remember that relationships come first on LinkedIn, not sales pitches!
Thanks for sharing Sandra, I wasn't aware of the update and see this as a step in the right direction. While I don't feel overly vulnerable to fake accounts, many new LI members may not be able to recognize a fake account and these features may help.
I'm not seeing this feature. Is it not fully rolled out yet?
Love this Sandra Long, I didn’t know

1ySandra I do not see this feature yet, at least not on the app. Do you know when it will get rolled out to everyone?
