Book: The Curator’s Secret

Author: Denise Weimer

Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense

Release date: March 1, 2025

It’s taken six years for Lacey Colbert to escape the heartbreak that caused her to disappear from Golden Isles Christian Camp and the life of her summer sweetheart, Trent Stevenson. Then a museum curator job at a Gilded Age resort lures her back to Georgia’s Jekyll Island. Lacey finds Trent no longer an employee in his dad’s lawn care business, but director of landscaping right in her historic district.

Winter Haven cottage’s century-old mystery of a vanished fiancé compels Lacey to settle her own past with Trent. Just one thing stands in the way … the fact that someone else likes uncovering secrets, too—Lacey’s. And her unknown foe won’t hesitate to use them against her.

Christian Historical Mystery is a great genre. The Curator's Secret by Denise Weimer is the latest in this genre that I have read.

The storyline started strong and was very intriguing throughout the book. The 2 main characters are Lacey Colbert  and Trent Stevenson. Lacey and Trent were sweethearts many years ago, during their teenage years. They grew apart and Lacey moved away. She comes how many years later to Jekyll Island to begin a job at Gilead Age Resort. Lacey feels the need to reconcile with Trent, but someone is uncovering Lacey's secrets and it might jeopardize things with Trent. I really LOVE how Trent stands by Lacey and helps her uncover the Mystery of who is telling Lacey's secrets. Trent is an outstanding person and I was happy for Lacey and Trent as their relationship rekindled. The book is one of Mystery, Faith, and Romance. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romance and Mystery. GREAT BOOK!

When Secrets Lead to Suspense…

The Curator’s Secret is a bit of a departure from the historicals I’ve been releasing over the past year—not only in that it’s contemporary romantic suspense, and released independently rather than through a publishing house, but in its theme and setting.

Have you ever found yourself unable to keep a promise you made with the best intentions? This could happen due to unforeseen circumstances, mistakes, or information you didn’t have when you offered the pledge. The inability to follow through may break our heart, haunt us, and sever relationships. Secrets can do the same thing, stealing our ability to live authentically, blocking our blessings, and creating a stockpile of lies.

Broken promises and secrets choked the life from Lacey and Trent’s youthful romance six years before the hero and heroine of The Curator’s Secret are reunited when Lacey takes a job as a curator for a historical complex on Georgia’s Jekyll Island, where Trent, unbeknownst to her, is the landscape director. Rather than the restart Lacey expects with her new career, God brings her face to face with her past—not just her first love, but also her grad school stalker who has somehow followed her to the remote island. As the threat escalates, the tale Lacey uncovers in Winter Haven Cottage of a vanished fiancé seems to parallel her own tragic romance…and possibly offer answers and healing. If her past doesn’t destroy her chance of happiness first.

The Curator’s Secret was originally written as a time slip or dual time period novel. It was my mom’s favorite story and my agent’s favorite story I’ve ever written! But somehow, we couldn’t find a publishing home for it. So at last, I’m releasing it myself to my readers who enjoy stories of faith and unique Georgia history. Even though I made the decision to pull the historical backstory out so as not to slow the modern suspense story, the history of Jekyll Island is paramount to the plot. And BONUS, I also have the historical tale of William and Clara that I can share separately to anyone who emails me from my website with their Amazon receipt number for their purchase of The Curator’s Secret.

I’ll close with a fun fact. My mom and I love to take research trips when I’m gathering info for my novels. We enjoyed a beautiful stay at Jekyll for this one…until a hurricane came roaring up the coast! We had to hightail it out of there as workers boarded up the historic district. The eerie sense of impending doom sparked my idea of having a hurricane crescendo with the action in The Curator’s Secret. Imagine being trapped on an island with a storm and a stalker both bearing down on you! That’s exactly what happens to Lacey at the end of the novel. I hope you enjoy this exciting tale of redemption and romance.

iRead Book Tours Blog Tour: Picture a Garden by Linda HomBerg

Book Details:

Book Title:  Picture A Garden by Linda Hornberg
CategoryMiddle-Grade Non-Fiction (Ages 8-12), 160 pages
GenreChildren's Non-Fiction.
Publisher: Peanut Butter Publishing
Publication Date: January 28, 2025.
Content Rating: G: Topics only include gardening and being outdoors.

What springs to mind when you hear the word GARDEN? Would it surprise you to learn that the world just outside your door is overflowing with art, science, humor, drama, intrigue, and colorful personalities? Nature has you surrounded. It's time to come out with your hands gloved and your feet galoshed, ready to sow some spinach, pick a peony, mulch a maple, root a rose, graft a grape, stake a spruce, water a walnut, and hug a hemlock.

Set down your screens and take up your trowel.

Adventure awaits!

The stories inside this book are nearly all true. I have never actually seen a chorus line of worms decked out in feather boas, but I can guarantee that there are plenty of real-life larvae out there merrily chewing up the scenery. You can turn orange from eating too many carrots, and there really is a tiny plant island called a liverwart--although there probably are no tiny castaways living on it. Welcome to gardening for smarties. Never stop thinking, wondering, and digging, and you’ll never be bored. Have fun.

I really enjoy Non-Fiction Books as they are factual books and usually very informative. Picture A Garden by Linda Hornberg is the latest in this genre that I have enjoyed.

I will admit I am not much of a Gardener, but my 3 boys LOVE Gardens and Landscaping. I love watching Gardens Grow and the Beautiful Scenery that Gardens and Plants and flowers create. To that point, this book is AMAZINGLY Beautiful and Informative. I really enjoyed the true stories from the author about Planting and Gardening. The Illustrations really bring the story to life and are very "lifelike", really pop off the pages. I really feel the way the author writes the Middle School Kids, which is the target audience for this book, will be engaged and "WOW" by the wonderful information! I truly believe this book will get Kids Outdoors more, especially in the Summer. I never really thought how much learning can be encompassed from Gardening. I knew that Science and Nature were a part of Gardening, but from the Author I learned that it also encompasses so much more including Family time, relaxing environment and more. The book is Informative, fun, Educational and Encouraging!  I HIGHLY recommend this book for Middle School Kids, but it is also a great book for Adults to read. FANTASIC BOOK!

Christian Suspense  is a genre that I used to refuse to read. I have come to enjoy the genre fully.  Hidden Secrets by S.F. Baumgartner is the most recent book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 4 in the Mirror Estate series. I have read a couple other books in this series and was anxiously awaiting the release of Book 4.

I have to say this book started strong and the Mystery and Suspense truly kept me intrigued throughout the book . The main character is Grace Benson.  Grace is abducted and is in a room with a small child. She had just been rescued from being attacked by a killer, and now she finds herself in another condumdrum. The child who is with her knows the way through the tunnels of the Bunker and she uses his knowledge to plan her escape from the Abductor. While being held captive, a congressman and staff are murdered and the FBI is wondering if all this is connected.  Mystery, Intrigue, Twists and Turns are all a part of this book! A definite Page Turner book! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Suspense Novels. AMAZING BOOK!

S.F. Baumgartner writes fast-paced Christian suspense thrillers. Book 1 of her Mirror Estate series, Living Secrets, was selected as one of the Top Picks in the thriller category at Killer Nashville, 2024. Her love for writing comes second only to her love of reading. When she’s not busy writing about complex characters, secretive operatives, and relentless agents, she spends her time binge-watching crime TV shows, such as NCIS, or playing with her cats. If you enjoy James Patterson’s style—specifically short chapters—you’ll love her Mirror Estate series.

More from S.F.

I’m so excited to share Hidden Secrets, the fourth book in my Mirror Estate Psychological Thriller series. For those who’ve been following Grace Benson’s story, this is the next chapter in her journey—a deeply personal one with plenty of the twists, danger, and suspense you’ve come to expect from my writing.

If you’ve read Tangled Secrets, you know that Grace finally uncovered the truth about her birth mother. That revelation opened doors to even more questions, and in Hidden Secrets, she takes the next step: discovering the identity of her birth father. Of course, in Grace’s world, nothing is ever simple. This isn’t just a straightforward search for a man from her past—it’s a journey wrapped in danger, deception, and murder.

Writing this book was such an adventure for me. Grace is a character I’ve grown to love, and putting her through these intense, high-stakes situations is always a mix of excitement and challenge. This time, she’s dealing with abduction, espionage, and a web of lies that keeps tightening around her. Every step she takes toward the truth comes with a cost, and watching her face these challenges while staying true to herself was as rewarding to write as I hope it is for you to read.

But I’ll admit, Hidden Secrets didn’t come together without a few struggles. I rewrote several scenes to make sure the story flowed the way it needed to. The pacing, the tension, and the timing of the twists had to be just right. I love keeping readers on the edge of their seats, but it takes some effort to make sure every piece falls into place.

One of the things I think makes this book stand out is how personal it is for Grace. Yes, there’s plenty of action, danger, and intrigue, but at its core, this story is about family and identity. Grace’s search for her father forces her to confront parts of herself she didn’t even know were missing. I wanted readers to feel that emotional depth while still delivering the suspense and surprises that make a Mirror Estate thriller what it is.

The reviews so far have been incredible. Hearing that readers are loving Grace’s latest journey means the world to me. Some have mentioned how much they appreciated the balance between the emotional moments and the fast-paced action, which makes me feel like all those rewrites were worth it!

If you’re already a fan of the series, I think you’re going to love where this installment takes Grace. And if you’re new to Mirror Estate, don’t worry—Hidden Secrets stands on its own. You’ll get plenty of context to enjoy the story, but starting at the beginning will definitely give you a richer experience.

Momentum Influencers Blog Tour: The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review

From Kingdom Story Company, the team behind JESUS
REVOLUTION and THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, and Lionsgate, the studiobehind WONDER, comes THE UNBREAKABLE BOY.
When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times —an
extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

I really enjoy Movies and other media that are based on True Stories. I was excited to watch the new movie The UnBreakable Boy. Austin is a remarkable boy who has Autism and Brittle Bone Disease. I really LOVE how his parents advocate for him and are his strength through the hard times. His younger brother is AMAZING and sticks up for Austin when the kids at school start picking on him. I think for me one of the best parts of the movie is watching Austin and his Dad, Scott, get closer and the bond between become really strong as Austin gets older. Many times Dad's struggle on the inside when their children are sick. I really saw Austin's Dad be there for his son and LOVE him unconditionally. The story is one that shows the Faith, LOVE, Trials and Triumphs and BONDING of Family.

I HIGHLY recommend this Movie! It is a PG movie, some parts may need monitoring by parents. GREAT MOVIE!

"When the odds are unbelievable, show the world you're unbreakable."

Many thanks to Kingdom Faith Marketing Services for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own

Whether you’re a fan of gripping suspense or heartwarming romance, the Southport Series is an absolute must-read. Don’t miss your chance to dive into a world brimming with passion, intrigue, and unforgettable moments.

I really enjoy romantic Suspense novels. Janie's Hope by S.R. Fabrico is the latest book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 3 in the Southport Series. I have not read the first 2 books in this series YET, but it read well as a Stand Alone novel.

I will say the storyline started off a little dull, but by Chapter 2 I was getting into the story. The main character in this book are Janie(now know as Hope). Janie is on the search to find more about her deceased mother's life and to learn about her family heritage on her Mom's side. She was raised by her father who was a Billionaire but he spent his life in the house. Janie felt she lived a sheltered life. She meets Noah and they immediately connect and begin a friendship. Janie introduces herself to Noah as Hope. The mystery and intrigue as they begin to uncover the truth about Hope's mom has some scary moments that puts Noah and Hope in danger. The setting of a small town, Southport, NC, really excited me as I truly enjoy Small Town novels. The book has many twists and turns in the storyline, which kept me captivated. I really LOVE seeing Noah and Hope grow their relationship throughout the book. I am really wanting to read this series from beginning to end as this book was that good! The book is one of Mystery and Romance. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense novels. GOOD BOOK!
