Five Productivity Hacks for LinkedIn Power Users

Five Productivity Hacks for LinkedIn Power Users

My clients always ask me for tips to be more productive while using LinkedIn.  They say they want to save TIME.

It’s true that we are all very busy. If you believe – like I do – that your personal brand and network will help accelerate your success – then spending time on LinkedIn is a valuable time investment. But still, let’s be smart about using the tools, tips, and special options to make us more productive.

Here are my current five favorite productivity tips.

1.    Calendly Calendar Integration

Many of the messages I receive on LinkedIn are from people who wish to speak with me or hire me for a LinkedIn project. They are interested in my services because they saw my profile, post, or comment. Who doesn’t love to get a note from an interested prospect?

These types of messages naturally gravitate into a Zoom call for me. I was thrilled when this Calendly feature was recently introduced. I can offer my calendar easily by clicking on the blue C logo.  Calendar options are displayed in the message and then my prospect can select their preferred date right from the LinkedIn message.

2.    QR Code of LinkedIn Profile

Now that we are getting back to live events, we have the opportunity to meet new people and hopefully connect with them and start to build a relationship. Back in the day, I grabbed a bunch of business cards, and off I went.

Now I just open the LinkedIn app and display my QR code to my new acquaintance. They do a quick scan and are immediately looking at my LinkedIn profile on their phone. Not only is this faster, but it also eliminates the concern that we might forget to connect later.

3.    Simultaneously Post to Twitter

I love ❤️ LinkedIn. Twitter, on the other hand, is more of an afterthought for me. Apologies to all Twitter experts and lovers out there!

But I DO post to Twitter on a regular basis because I have integrated my Twitter account and my LinkedIn profile. When I post I always choose to post to both platforms simultaneously.

Yes, occasionally I get a lead from Twitter. But 99% of my inbound inquiries come from LinkedIn. Which makes sense. It’s where I hang out all the time.

4.    Out of Office Message

I am rarely “out of the office,” but sometimes I get super busy doing corporate training or speaking to various audiences and can’t respond immediately.

It’s great to have the “set away” message option. It has the side benefit of automatically sending an acknowledgment message to anyone who messages you.

5.    Audio Messaging

This feature might be my very favorite productivity AND EFFECTIVENESS tool on LinkedIn. I use this multiple times per week. Not only does it save me time from writing out a longer message, but it comes across so much more authentically.

When do I use audio messaging? Here are five occasions when I use this tool (but there are so many more)

✅ To say thank you for hiring me to speak or train

✅ To say that I was very happy to meet them

✅ To answer a question more easily

✅ To follow up after a long while and to reenergize a conversation or proposal

✅ To start a new dialogue

Loved these 5 hacks! Very useful. I am definitely going to start using audio message option where appropriate. Also, I tried to connect to Twitter but when I went clicked on Twitter Settings nothing happened. I'll look into that. Do you know if everyone has that option available to them?
