February Baking Challenge Results

February 2022 Sallyโ€™s Baking Challenge Recipe: Chocolate Pop Tarts. February was certainly the month of CHOCOLATE! What a thrill to see so many Sallyโ€™s Baking Challenge participants during the shortest month of the year. The February recipe instructed participants to make 3 different components including a pastry pie crust, chocolate filling, and chocolate icing. Many bakers used this recipe for a snowy weekend project, a Valentineโ€™s Day treat, or as a fun indoor activity with kids. My team and I loved all the fun presentation including heart-shaped, circle-shaped, ร  la mode, and a frenzy of sprinkles!

Thank you so much for participating! We gathered as many chocolate pop tarts emailed photo entries as we could and included them below.

So much flavor! Loved this cake, and I used Swiss merengue buttercream which also was amazing!

This cake turned out great! My first time making lemon curd, and it is 1000 times better than store bought. Thanks Sally!! I didnโ€™t have any limes on hand, and my oranges are blood oranges. They gave it a really great flavor. I also sliced a lemon and an orange and candied them to use for decoration. This was a lot of fun, and the taste really brightened our day! ๐Ÿ™‚

This was a delicious, citrusy cake. Yummy curd and frosting too. I used three loaf pans that worked well enough and lemon, lime and orange zest and juice providing a nice blend. The directions made it easy.

This cake was so delicious! It was m time making lemon curd and I wonder why Iโ€™ve never made it before, it was simple and so very good! The frosting was amazing, a nice change from buttercream. Iโ€™m tempted to make the cake again it was that good! Love the citrus. ๐Ÿ™‚

        Well done Kristin!
Iโ€™m not a confident or experienced baker yet, so I found this recipe to hard and overwhelming for me.
They do look delicious though, and I did try to push myself to make them because of that.
I also only have a tiny fridge, so wouldnโ€™t have been able to put them in, like the recipe says your to do.
