🗞️ NEWS -- Max Power Mining Corp (CSE: MAXX) | (OTC: MAXXF) and Larin Engineering HHC have commenced a comprehensive Natural Hydrogen study of the entire state of Texas using proprietary methods. The study, aimed at prioritizing prospective Natural Hydrogen targets for near-term potential land acquisitions and exploration, will serve as a model that can quickly be scaled up to encompass vast sections of the United States. ⏺️ Texas is already America’s top producer of manufactured hydrogen and currently features a vast hydrogen pipeline network stretching for 1,600 miles in addition to an abundance of other hydrogen-related infrastructure as well as existing and potential offtakers. In short, Houston is the energy capital of the world but the broader state has been underexplored for the potential of hosting accumulations of naturally occurring hydrogen gas as recently discovered elsewhere in the world. Here's a quick breakdown: 🔍 Key Highlights: Production: Holding steady above 100Bcf/d Cooling demand: Showing signs of moderation EIA storage report: Expected to show bullish injection numbers On Wednesday, the October NYMEX NatGas futures contract lost $0.58, settling at $2.145/MMBtu, following a previous session gain of $0.76. 📉 Meanwhile, spot gas prices continued their upward trajectory, with NGI’s Spot Gas National Avg. climbing $0.20 to $1.750, as bargain buyers returned to the market. ⚖️ Market Fundamentals: Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) demand remained strong, balancing early signs of reduced weather-driven demand. Production: Holding at 100.6 Bcf/d, slightly down from recent peaks. Gelber Gas Daily (+ crude!) #NaturalGas -- Outages Send Permian Prices Lower, April LNG Flows See Europe Weaker While Latin America Strong: NYMEX natural gas futures are flat on the day, last trading at $2.21/MMBtu. Production saw a drop of -2.2 Bcf/d as is typical for this time of week, bringing levels to 97.5 Bcf/d. Driving the drop was the South Central, where a planned outage on the Permian Highway Pipeline sharply dropped takeaway capacity from the gas-rich region by more than 1 Bcf/d. The constraint on flows should remain in full until at least May 10th before a gradual recovery by May 12th. Spot prices at Waha have been negative recently as LNG outages added to the imbalance of the already-oversupplied region; with this latest outage, Waha saw spot hit prices not seen in 4 years, with gas traded at -$4.60/MMBtu yesterday. As LNG continues to be a primary point of focus, data for the month of April showed LNG imports into Northwest Europe totaled 5.21 million metric tons. Compared to this time last year, this marks a 27.6% decrease, though a 7% increase month-over-month. The US remained the major supplier, contributing 57% of the imports. Notably, France continued as the leading destination for the third consecutive month, receiving 40% of the imports. The drop in imports, particularly in the UK and Belgium, was influenced by high levels of gas already in European storage and competition from markets in Asia, Egypt, and Latin America. The latter region's LNG imports surged almost 20% in April, totaling about 58.5 Bcf, up from 49.2 Bcf in March. Colombia led Latin America with 14.68 Bcf of imports, a record high, driven by drought conditions exacerbated by El Niño. Argentina's imports are set to increase through August due mostly to delivery of spot cargoes purchased previously, while Brazil's demand remains uncertain due to various factors including renewable generation intermittency. Over half of Latin America's imports came from the Lower 48, while Trinidad's Atlantic LNG facility supplied 32%. #Crude -- Crude Sideways Ahead of Weekly Petroleum Report, Chevron-Hess Merger Still Delayed: Crude oil is flat on the day, last trading at $78.54/bbl. While crude is trading sideways, equities are showing strength, with the S&P 500 nearly at $5200 this morning. As upstream consolidation continues, the delay in Chevron's acquisition of Hess is not making much progress. ExxonMobil, which has claimed a right of first refusal on Hess' assets in Guyana, has said that the arbitration case delaying the acquisiton could extend well into 2025. Oil producers sell US gas at lowest prices in years Large crude oil producers in the second quarter sold their US natural gas output at the lowest prices in years as gas pipelines out of the Permian basin ran full and the US gas market remained oversupplied. The historically discounted gas — mostly associated gas production — did little to dent the crude producers' profits, however, as crude sales represent a much larger share of their revenue and crude prices have remained strong. Nevertheless, crude-driven associated gas production comprises a significant share of total US gas output. Chevron, which reported 2.6 Bcf/d (74mn m³/d) of US gas output in the second quarter, posted average realized sales at 73¢/mmBtu, the lowest for the oil major since the first quarter of 2020, according to company filings. ExxonMobil fared little better, with average sales realized at $1/mmBtu for its 2.9 Bcf/d of US gas in the second quarter, down from $1.40/mmBtu a year earlier and the lowest since at least 2002, as far back as Internet-accessible company filings reach. If it realized a more middling price of $3/mmBtu on its US gas output, its second-quarter revenue would have been $548mn higher than its actual revenue of $51.2bn. https://lnkd.in/eRibs9Nb

For ten weeks in a row the US oil industry output has been the same (13.1 mbpd). I believe that is known as a plateau. This is the industry that the IEA just said will be a major contributor to the increases predicted for the global oil industry in 2024. And yet, it is lower than where it started 2024 and has flatlined. Going to be some huge gains required in the next 7.5 months for the IEA forecast to be right. Gelber Gas Daily (+ crude!) #NaturalGas -- LNG Continues Up, Chevron Deference Spells Significant Impact on Regulation: NYMEX natural gas futures are down -$0.10, last trading at $2.50/MMBtu. Production was able to hit slightly above 102 Bcf/d this weekend before coming back down -0.8 Bcf/d to 101.3 Bcf/d as of today’s early-cycle nominations. LNG feedgas continued its uptrend, hitting 12.9 Bcf/d today after recovering from a now-concluded unplanned maintenance event at the Freeport terminal. Initial data indicates that June marked yet another record for cargoes sent through the Cape of Good Hope’s shipping route, as LNG traders continued to avoid the Panama Canal when shipping to the high-priced LNG markets in Asia. Last week, however, the Canal’s authority announced an additional booking slot for cargoes seeking passage as previous constraints from low water levels are now less of an issue. So far, the time and monetary cost of using the Canal has outweighed that of the Cape for sellers of international LNG; last month, just 3 carriers passed through the route compared to 35 at the Cape of Good Hope. On Friday, the US Supreme Court overturned the Chevron deference in what will likely have wide-sweeping effects on the regulatory landscape. The deference comes from a 1984 case which found that federal regulatory agencies are the authority in cases where regulatory statutes are ambiguous. Both courts and Congress have used the case as precedent for over 4 decades, leaving the interpretation of ambiguous laws to agencies. With the deference overturned, the onus will be on the courts for interpretation of unclear statutes. Liberal justices, in dissent, noted that the move could lead to judicial overreach in areas like environmental protection and public health. Chief Justice Roberts argued that agencies lack the competence to resolve statutory ambiguities, a task better suited for courts. Existing laws that previously relied on agency interpretations are now in question if they are revisited. #Crude -- Crude Market Participants Await FOMC Announcements Ahead of HolidayCrude oil is up $1.72, last trading at $83.26/bbl. The latest Baker-Hughes oil & gas rig count data showed that for the week ended June 28th, oil rigs were down -6 to 479 rigs, representing a low not seen since early 2022. The upcoming holiday which should cause thinner-than-normal books combined with some important dates will likely result in increased volatility this week. Tomorrow, Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell is scheduled to speak at a European Central Bank forum; on Wednesday at 2 PM EST, FOMC minutes are scheduled.
