This was the opening slide of a presentation I did recently. The presentation is about how to get more clients from your newsletter. One thing I started doing recently in presentations is opening with a slide that has nothing but a single, thought-provoking, attention-grabbing sentence. Like this one. It comes before any title slide, or intro, or anything else. It's a teaser to grab attention immediately. And it works. Well. Highly recommend you try it with your next presentation.
Confident, bold, direct, concise, and creative.
Great idea!
Josh, love this approach. It creates intrigue and gets people dialed in. I'm about to do a few videos for my hybrid coaching course and I'm going to use this trick for my slides.
THAT is one of the 5 classic TED Talk openings, Josh. "Holy Hook!" as in Holy Sh1t! Glad to hear it is (naturally) working for you outside of a TED context! 1. Story Doorways 2. BIG Questions 3. Promises Kept 4. Wow Moments 5. Relatable Reference **6. Giving the unexpected. Much more interesting than the regular "title slide." I have a presentation coming up in December and will adopt this approach. Thank you.
Great hook, and a powerful approach to starting a presentation. Love it.
First impression is the most important. Great reminder Josh Spector
I love this Josh Spector, thanks for the reminder.
