"It's not the plane. It's the pilot" was my favorite quote from the new Top Gun ✈️ Maverick movie. It seems that this quote can be translated into so many business contexts too. My world is LinkedIn and this is how I convert this quote. "It's not the LinkedIn platform. It's the community. The users. The buyers, sellers, job seekers, hiring managers, CEOs, speakers, companies, and universities. It's up to all of us" How do YOU translate that quote to your professional life? OR alternatively what is your favorite Top Gun quote? I would LOVE ❤️ to know the answer to these questions Have a fabulous day 😀 #topgunmaverick #linkedin #community https://lnkd.in/e_ie8xxW https://lnkd.in/eueCi7qY
Sandra Long I'd say "It's not [In], it's how you use [In]!" BTW: Love both versions of this movie and its messaging. #KeepRockingLinkedIn! Kevin
You are so right Sandra Long - I used to complain that I didn't like my feed, the content I was consuming. I then realised - wait...I can contorl this. When you build a community who truly want to hear what you have to say and vice versa, this is where the fun and learning begin.
Thanks sharing it. Best one which I like is “It’s Not The Plane, It’s The Pilot.” Tells us that it's ALL in the MIND
What an awesome way to bring Top Gun into LinkedIn. So so accurate. Love it Sandra Long. May I borrow it?
For me, LinkedIn is the inflencers and decision makers. Some one told me yesterday “if you influence the king, you influence the kingdom”!
“It’s the only one I got.” ❤️ And this translates on so many different levels, both professionally and personally. Sometimes not so easy, yet keeping this one statement as a mantra certainly reminds me that life is short, be kind, work hard, be grateful and have FUN!

1yThanks so much, Sandra Long, for this post,. In looking through the 8 quotes, the one that jumped out at me is "It's Time to Let Go." Just today, I emailed the organizer of a business networking group telling him that I simply don't have time to visit his group today as I had originally planned. I've got too many other commitments this week, and can use the 2.5 hours I would have spent traveling to the meeting, being there, and traveling home in ways that are more productive for me. This quote can also apply to letting go of relationships (personal or professional) that aren't working for me, letting go of groups I belong to and no longer serve me - or me them, and probably most important, letting go of ways and thought patterns in which I'm limiting myself. I truly appreciate this opportunity for self-reflection that your post has given me.
