Love Overboard JustRead Blog + Review Tour

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for Love Overboard by Shannon Sue Dunlap, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Love Overboard

Title: Love Overboard
Series:
Love Overboard #1
Author:
Shannon Sue Dunlap
Publisher:
Kregel Publications
Release Date:
May 21, 2024
Genre: Christian Romcom

A snort-laughing, cruise ship romance takes readers into topsy-turvy waters

When a group of four quirky friends retire on a neverending round of cruises, their attire consists of more than floral shirts and gaudy skirts. Armed with walkie-talkies and battle plans, these relationship experts--who've dubbed themselves the "Shippers"--target hostess Lacey Anderson and director Jonathan King in their romantic schemes. But the young couple refuses to cooperate. They've been on the "love boat" together before, and it went down in flames.

Boss matchmaker Emily Windsor has orchestrated multiple romantic successes, and these two upstarts certainly won't get the best of her. The chemistry between Lacey and Jonathan is obvious, but the couple rebuffs every outlandish plot and "coincidental" meeting, forcing the matchmakers to chart a new course to true love--all while inadvertently thwarting drug smugglers threatening to ruin their floating home on the ocean.

This laugh-out-loud rom-com features loveable characters, over-the-top situations reminiscent of 1950s sitcoms, and a dash of mystery. The toe-curling romance will push the reader overboard and all in with Shannon Dunlap's new series.

I have recently been enjoying Christian Rom-Com books. I recently had the opportunity to read LOVE Overboard by Shannon Sue Dunlap. It is Book 1 in the LOVE Overboard series.

WOW, this book had me from the very first chapter. I dove right in and did not stop reading until I finished the book in about 4hrs. The story takes place on a Cruise and the main characters are Ship Hostess Lacey Anderson and Ship Director Jonathan King. The story also has the 4 friends, Emily, Geraldine, Daisy, and Althea,  who call themselves "The Shippers". They are always playing matchmakers and their current "Targets" are Lacey and Jon, who had previously been a couple. The Shippers have many fun antics and are trying their best to get Lacey and Jon together again. I LOVE how they get involved in the Drug Smuggling Mystery that has bought Undercover FBI agent Jon on board to solve. I also LOVE that the Shippers are very strong in their faith and lead others to Christ. The book is filled with Humor, Romance, Mystery and Faith! I don't think I have laughed so much and so hard when reading a book in my life. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Rom-Com books! HYSTERICALLY FANTASTIC Book!

Momentum Influencers Blog Tour: Support Israel and Sign the Anti-Rioting Petition

I am not a very Political Person on my Blog. I have my personal beliefs that I normally keep to myself. The Protests and Encampments at many colleges across the United States needs to stop and President Biden needs to step up and stop them. You can help by signing a Petition to make President Biden know that these Anti-Israel Protests need to STOP!

• Biden continues to jump between approving and disapproving of anti-Israel protests depending on his audience. We need to stand up for our brothers and sisters in Israel. It’s time for the protests to stop and for us to support Israel!

Stop the media’s lies about the attacks on Israel! See real headlines about what’s actually going on in the world below, and then sign the petition to end anti-Israel rioting:

• Anti-Israel protester blocks traffic using her baby: This video captures an antiIsrael protester holding her baby while standing in front of a car to block traffic. Another protester can be heard asking for a replacement for the mother, noting her willingness to risk her child’s life. Additionally, another parent with a small child and dog are seen standing in the path of traffic. See video: More Info

• George Washington U grads storm out of graduation ceremony in anti-Israel protest: Dozens of George Washington University graduates walked out of commencement ceremonies on Sunday, disrupting university President Ellen Granberg's speech, in protest over the ongoing war in Gaza and last week's clearing of an on-campus protest encampment that involved police use of pepper spray and dozens of arrests. See more: More Info

• Harvard Prevents Twelve Anti-Israel Protesters from Graduating at Commencement: The Harvard College Administrative Board will be preventing twelve seniors from graduating at commencement and at least one senior will be required to withdraw for three semesters, the Harvard Crimson reported. Two of the twelve seniors were among the five suspended students who were forced to withdraw from Harvard College, the university’s undergraduate liberal arts school. See more: More Info

• Philadelphia university president reacts after at least 75 anti-Israel protestors descend on campus: A group of at least 75 anti-Israel agitators staged an encampment at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. The president said that encampment raised “understandable concerns” about safety on campus. See more: More Info

Seeking Peace: Israel has repeatedly expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue and negotiate for a lasting peace with the Palestinians. However, achieving peace requires a genuine commitment from both sides to recognize each other’s right to exist and to engage in constructive negotiations without violence or terrorism.

Complexity of the Conflict: The situation in the Middle East is complex, with historical, religious, and geopolitical dimensions. It’s crucial to understand the multifaceted nature of the conflict and avoid oversimplification or one-sided narratives that ignore the broader context.

• Addressing Root Causes: To achieve long-term peace, it’s necessary to address the root causes of the conflict, such as incitement to violence, terrorism, and the refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. Encouraging a shift towards education for coexistence and mutual respect is crucial for fostering lasting peace.

• Combatting Terrorism: Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, exploits civilian areas in Gaza, using them as launch sites for rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. The international community must condemn terrorism in all its forms and hold accountable those who use violence against civilians for political gain.

Fetterman: Biden Is Trying to ‘Have Both Sides’ on Israel-Hamas War: Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that President Joe Biden was tryin to have “both sides” on the Israel-Hamas war. See more: More Info

Christian Parenting Non-Fiction books are a valuable resource during the parenting years. Raising Kids to Follow Christ: Instilling a Lifelong Trust in God by Lee Ann Mancini is the latest in this genre that I have read.

Parents want their children to grow in the Faith from a young age. The Church helps guide children through various programs and events. Parents are the first source of encouragement and guidance. Lee Ann Mancini has written a GREAT book that will help and encourage Parents in guiding their children to Follow Christ and a firm foundation in the Faith. The book is 13 chapters of wisdom and research and Biblical Scriptures. I really love the Nightly Blessing Prayers for parents to pray over their children. The Author goes through the Fruit of the Spirit and encourages the parents to teach those to their Children. The book includes ideas on how to get the children to memorize scripture so that it is "written on their hearts". The personal stories were encouraging to read! I HIGHLY recommend this book to parents or anyone who is looking to instill a Trust and LOVE for God in young children! FANTASTIC BOOK!

More from Lee Ann

Recent statistics show our youth abandoning faith at an alarming rate. 90% of 13–14-year-olds believe there is no absolute moral truth, and 75% of parents agree.[1]  In the cultural war against Christ-centered values, vulnerable young souls are our greatest casualties. It’s time to raise up a faith-armored generation and equip them to change the world. With the right resources, we can equip our kids with enduring faith.

Her reason for writing this book is to help readers eagerly search the Bible, looking for fresh truth they can find in each word of scripture — “for the word of God is living and active” (Hebrews 4:12, niv) — to build a strong foundation of Christ in their children that will last a lifetime.

Valentine’s Day Bible craft for your family:

Memory Verse: John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (ESV).

  • God wants us to love everyone. A great way to start practicing loving others is to love the people you are closest to first.
  • I want you to think of seven people who you spend the most time with. We are going to start practicing showing God’s love to them this week.

Book: Shoot at the Sunset

Author: Kathleen Denly

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Release Date: April 9, 2024

Will love survive when truth takes aim at their secrets?

Sharpshooter Preston Baker has spent a lifetime confronting danger head-on. So when a heartfelt letter arrives from his big sister asking for help, he doesn’t hesitate to put his traveling show career on hold and journey to her remote desert ranch, determined to make amends for past failures. What he doesn’t expect is to discover his long-lost little sister and her best friend, Lucy, are both hard at work on the ranch.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Lucy Arlidge’s decision to travel to a remote desert ranch was born as much from desperation as friendship. Fleeing San Francisco may have saved Lucy’s life, but the decision left others in danger. To thwart the evil plans of those who pursue her and her family, Lucy must keep her new gem-mining operation concealed and her secrets safe.

Preston is drawn to the mysterious woman, despite her plans to marry the neighboring rancher. Lucy’s quiet strength and undeniable beauty beckon him like a campfire in the wilderness, offering light amidst the dark memories and deepest fears resurrected by the presence of his sisters. But as danger closes in, Preston and Lucy must confront their pasts to save not only their own futures, but the lives of everyone they love.

Historical Fiction is a favorite genre of mine. Shoot at the Sunset by Kathleen Denly is Book 5 in the Chaparral Hearts series. I have been enjoying this series since the beginning and was excited to read Book 5.

The setting of this story is in the California Desert in The storyline of Preston and Lucy's story drew me in quickly and I could not stop reading until I finished the book.  Preston is a Sharpshooter and he is constantly traveling. He heads back home to help his sister on her Desert Ranch after he receives a letter from her. Lucy fled her home in San Francisco to escape danger and when Preston returns to the Ranch they meet. Lucy Alridge is good friends with Preston's sister and has been staying at the Ranch. I LOVE how Preston and Lucy had an immediate connection and how a friendship turned into something more. They both have a past that they must be able to leave in the past for a good future together. They rely on God to help them through the rough times. I really like the Historical Era of this book. The Author does a great job of keeping to the details of that Era accurate.  I TRULY enjoyed the entire series and I HIGHLY recommend this series. Although the books can be read as Stand Alone books, I recommend reading the series in order! AWESOME BOOK!

Kathleen Denly lives in sunny California with her loving husband, four young children, two dogs, and ten cats. As a member of the adoption and foster community, children in need are a cause dear to her heart and she finds they make frequent appearances in her stories. When she isn’t writing, researching, or caring for children, Kathleen spends her time reading, visiting historical sites, hiking, and crafting.

Sheltered by the Doctor

Title: Sheltered by the Doctor
Series:
Harbored in Crow's Nest #5
Author:
Danielle Grandinetti
Publisher:
Hearth Spot Press
Release Date:
May 21, 2024
Genre:
Christian Historical Romantic Suspense

A fake relationship might keep her safe, but will it break their hearts?

Wisconsin, 1931—Mindy Zahn can’t understand why her parents deserted the family farm, leaving her mute younger sister in her care. Until her mother’s cryptic warning to keep her sister safe becomes a life-threatening task.

Searching for that elusive something to ease his weary heart, Dr. Nick Matrone is drawn to the cheery Mindy. He would never presume to bring such a sweet woman into his beleaguered past, so friendship is all he can offer. Except, he doesn’t expect needing to save her life.

As the danger grows, they both must battle through physical and emotional wounds to have a hope of their counterfeit relationship becoming true.

Welcome to Crow’s Nest, where danger and romance meet at the water’s edge.

Historical Romance with Suspense is a great genre to read. Sheltered by the Doctor by Danielle Grandinetti is one that I recently had the honor to read. It is Book 4 in the Harbored in Crows Nest series. I read Book 3 in this series and was excited to read this book also.

We are taken back to Crows Nest, Wisconsin in 1931 for the setting and time of the book. Mindy Zahn has been left to take care of her Mute Sister when her parents up and leave her behind. Mindy is very concerned for herself and sister when her mom sends a message "keep her safe". Mindy soon learns that her mom meant that literally as they lives are threatened. Dr. Nick Matrone is the town Doctor and he really enjoys Mindy's personality. He starts a friendship with her, as he as a past that might hinder something more. He quickly realizes that they are all in danger and he ends up doing everything possible to keep her safe.  Will they be safe from the danger lurking? Can their friendship turn into a relationship?

WOW, this book was very intriguing from the very first chapter. I  I really LOVE that Mindy became care giver to her sister without hesitation. Dr. Nick was a wonderful character and a gentleman. I really love how they started a "Fake Romance' in order to keep everyone safe, even though they felt they aren't worthy of each other. Dr. Nick and Mindy both had some struggles to overcome to be able to see that their worth comes from God. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Romance with Suspense. FANTASTIC BOOK!
