Pusha T has flooded timelines with hard-core street raps (see: his latest offering “Drug Dealers Anonymous” featuring Jay Z), but the G.O.O.D. Music president also apparently lent his pen to McDonald’s catchy 2003 jingle “I’m Lovin’ It.”
Steve Stoute On Uniting Budweiser & Jay-Z For Made In America: ‘Brands Are Becoming Much Closer To The Content’
“Our first big thing was launching ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ for McDonald’s in 2004,” revealed Translation ad agency CEO Steve Stoute in an interview with Hot 97 alongside The Stashed founder/editor-in-chief Kaz, who marveled: “That’s crazy that Pusha T wrote the song for McDonald’s.”

While Stoute couldn’t remember the exact payout amount for one of Translation’s first big clients, he did offer, “Nobody was mad.”
The feel-good Mickey D’s ditty was performed by Justin Timberlake — who bagged a reported $6 million from the deal, according to The New York Times — in tandem with Pharrell. It comes as no surprise that Pusha T would be involved in the lucrative endorsement deal as JT, an ex-*NSYNC member, was relishing in the success of his breakout solo hit, 2002’s “Like I Love You” which featured Clipse, Pusha T’s former duo with his brother, No Malice.
Reps for Pusha T and McDonald’s did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s request for comment.
