I loved this book filled with grief, love, suspense and intrigue. I could not put this book down. I loved Effie and Norah. I loved that each of these women from a 120 years apart have to solve a murder to move on with their lives. I loved how spooky this story could be. I am never disappointed by this author. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

True crime did NOT just become popular in this century! Scour the old newspapers for a full and detailed telling of the latest crime. That’s how I got the idea for Night Falls on Predicament Avenue! Yes! I read an old newspaper article from the late 1800’s in which they described in quite delectable detail, the crime scene of a murder in a house with questionable history. That being said, it’s also important to note, that forensics DID just recently become popular in the last 50-100 years. In the 1800’s, if you were murdered, it was common for your neighbor to tour and trample over your crime scene out of curiosity and/or the hope they might be of service in solving the crime. More likely than not, they were merely wanna-be podcast listeners of true crime shows simply born too early for that technological advancement.

I enjoyed this story of retired spies and lots of intrigue. I felt it was a little slow in the first chapters but I had a hard time putting the book down by the middle of the book. I loved Maggie and her friends in the Martini Club. I liked Jo. I enjoyed the action.

I enjoyed this story filled with drug addiction, murder, suspense and family. I felt that Maggie was a very tragic person trying to survive. I liked learning a little about why some people tag stuff. I liked the toughness that Detective Martinez showed. I felt this was a very sad and tragic story. I loved learning about some dental work that happened in this time period and how the police department worked during this same time period. I loved this wonderful mystery. I loved how well this book was written to bring Jessica and all her friends from Cabot Cove back to life. I loved this latest story in Holiday Junction. I love that Violet is becoming such a likable character now that she has found her new home. I enjoy seeing this town through Violets eyes.
