I teach experts how to use writing to grow their business.

The simplest way to improve your copy: Go look at your social bio, sales page, newsletter signup page, website, or anywhere you describe what you do and who it’s for. Wherever you use the word “people,” replace it with a more specific descriptor. You don’t help “people” grow their business… You help SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS grow their business. You don’t help “people” become better parents… You help WORKING MOMS become better parents. You don’t help “people” manage their finances. You help SIX-FIGURE EARNERS manage their finances.

This lesson helps so much. You and I both playing with loopholes a tad…you help “experts” I help “founders, entrepreneurs, & authors.” The thing is though, I would love to help a farmer is she needed communication coaching.

Absolutely spot-on advice! Narrowing down the audience not only enhances the clarity of the message but also deepens the connection with the target group. It's fascinating how such a simple change can significantly amplify the impact of communication. Thanks for sharing this gem, it’s a timely reminder that in marketing, specificity is key. I'll definitely be revisiting my own materials with this insightful tip in mind.

(As business school faculty) I help future leaders find their career path. Love the way this formula includes an element of CTA, since the unspoken part is "follow me if you want this."
