🗞 The S.T.U.P.I.D. Email (12-03-2021)
(Swipe, Thought, Uplifting, Picture, Interesting, Do-over)
This is a fun email for Friday December 3rd, 2021. Hope you like it :)

This 1969 ad shows that you can drink Dr. Pepper as a HOT beverage!
Showing different uses for your product is definitely a way to boost sales (although I'm not sure this specific trend ever caught on) 😂
That Dr. Pepper ad reminds me of when Campbell's Soup would promote drinking beef broth as a cocktail-like drink:
Time to go drink some boiling hot Dr. Pepper and beef broth now 😂
Thought:
I saw this post from Foundation Inc which made a lot of sense:
Content marketing has come a long way from 2010 to 2021
This is so true…when I was writing blogs in 2010, content distribution was writing a long blog post and hoping people shared it.
Now there's so many more channels and methods to get yourself (or your company) in front of others!
Uplifting:
I recently "downgraded" from a MacBook Pro "down" to a MacBook Air and it was the perfect decision:
When the MacBook Air came out (when Steve Jobs was still alive) it was the most perfect computer ever.
It was light, small, super thin....the full package:
However it was always underpowered compared to the MacBook Pro's. So around 3 years ago I bought a brand new MacBook Pro.
The MacBook Pro was a good laptop, but only GOOD. Not GREAT.
During some recent travel I crushed my screen, and had to grab a new one immediately.
I'd watched videos reviewing the new MacBook Air with the M1 chip, which solved the MacBook Air's only problem: Being slower.
Now the MacBook Air is THE FULL PACKAGE!!
The MacBook Air is:
- Astonishingly fast.
- Wayyy lighter than Pro.
- Insanely good battery life.
- Feels like I can use computer "faster" with this.
2008 MacBook Air was the most perfect computer ever, and this returns that perfect form factor:
- This keyboard is better.
- The TouchBar on Pro was useless.
- The front lip is lower, so it doesn't dig into your wrists.
- The new MacBook Pro is crazy heavy. Unless you're doing hardcore professional video editing you don't need it.
So happy with the Air!

I've been dog sitting a bunch lately, and here's one of my favorite little guys: Poe!
While I like big dogs, these small dogs are king of convenient in a lot of ways.
Small Dogs (like a Shih Tzu):
• Don't shed
• Hypoallergenic
• Easy to tire out
• Can fly with them
• Easy to transport in a car
• Easy to get people to dogsit them
• Don't need a gigantic area to play
• They aren't strong enough to be dangerous (I just dogsat a pitbull who sent 2 other dogs to the hospital in 2 days) 😳
People often say "small dogs are yappy and annoying" ...but that's generally a problem with an owner not training them well.
Anyways, here's another picture of Poe!
Interesting:
I'm on the lookout to buy a small software tool for next year.
I think this could be a fun project to document:
Buy a small software tool or Chrome Extension then apply good marketing to make it grow.
Know anything of anything cool?
My current places to search are EmpireFlippers, Flippa, and MicroAcquire.
I will also be trolling ProductHunt and perhaps Wordpress Plugins.
Do-Over:
In our private forum M.R. was talking about her eComm store that sells spill-proof cloth covers for car seats.
However a lot of the images on the page were very generic, and didn't tell much of a story:
A standard photo is fine, but it's often better to include a little bit more information in an image by "marking it up" with text, like this:
See how a single image can tell far more about the product this way??
Hope you enjoyed these little tidbits, have a happy Friday!
Sincerely,
