I can't wait any longer. It's almost time to say Happy Birthday🎉 🎂 🎁 to LinkedIn - 20 YEARS OLD as of tomorrow May 5! Most people don't realize that LinkedIn is older than Facebook. So in honor of their birthday, let's explore just what we have all gained. Can you help by answering these questions? ✅ What year did you join LinkedIn? ✅ What does LinkedIn mean to you? ✅ What are the benefits you have received? new job? new client? better visibility? For me, I joined in 2005 and have been lucky 🍀 with it from the start. I found opportunities, clients, speaking engagements, and friendships. I love to hear from people around the world 🌍 who read my book 📕 or watched my TEDx talk. CONNECTING is a big benefit that I have enjoyed from day one. What about you? ------------------------------------------------- #linkedin #linkedinbirthday #SalesbySandra Sandra Long Post Road Consulting: LinkedIn and Social Selling Training
Woot- Happy Birthday, LI!!
Happy 20th Birthday LinkedIn 🎂
Wow, it's been that long. Is there a way to find out what year did we join LinkedIn?
🎈Birthday wishes to LinkedIn! 🎈 Hard to believe...but I joined way back in 2004. While I occasionally engage in other social media platforms, LinkedIn is the only one that has demonstrated any actual, real-world value. I've met so many amazing people through LinkedIn, learned so much, engaged in so many stimulating interactions, enhanced my visibility and credibility, built my personal and professional brand, expanded my thoughtleadership, and gotten numerous clients, podcast interviews, speaking engagements, book sales, and more. It's also hard for me to believe that I recently surpassed 12,000 LinkedIn connections! As someone once said to me, "For a self-proclaimed 'extreme introvert', you sure seem to know everybody...and everybody seems to know you!" And I can attribute a lot of that to LinkedIn. So, thank YOU, Sandra Long, for keeping us informed and helping others like me to leverage its value and its power.
Wow! 20 years - it deserves serious recognition! Pretty sure I created my account in 2008. LinkedIn is my go-to after I meet anyone or hear about a business I'm interested in. I can say with certainty that LinkedIn has opened many doors for me. It's most powerful benefit is one that most every day users underestimate and therefore under use. That is: ACCESS. I have gained direct access to speakers, authors, influencers, players in the entertainment industry, professional athletes, and the highest level corporate executives by understanding how to approach someone effectively. LinkedIn is likely the most untapped available resource for professionals to attain what they want. It's there for the access as long as you lean in. As it happens, yours TED talk, Sandra Long illustrates the extraordinary power of this platform for that very purpose. Wow time is flying... I joined in 2006. I've never fully maximized this platform the way I should but even so, it's definitely been helpful in meeting and reaching out to people and connecting. I've met great people here and gotten a lot of business as well.
It's very hard to imagine how we connected professionally, researched prospects, got jobs, and learned a new skill before LinkedIn and LinkedIn Learning.
Wow!! I joined in February 2005 when Tatiana Mulry first invited. She was my first connection! My journey echoes yours, Sandra Long! Jobs, business opportunities, a personal brand and visibility and so many friends. I can’t imagine not being on the platform.
Joined a couple years after you Sandra Long. LinkedIn certainly augmented traditional networking with another layer with which to connect and follow-up. In recent years when "in-person" shut down, I'm not sure what we would have done without it to continue those connections.
