Sky Blue
Title: Skyblue Author: M.P. Halliday Genre: Fantasy This is a retelling of the story of Bluebeard. I wish I knew the original story so I could compare, but not being familiar with it did not take away from my experience while reading SkyBlue. Our FMC, Beatrice is forced into marrying the older and eccentric Monsieur Dumas. Dumas alternates between being a sweet and supportive husband to periods of terrifying her. Stories of a curse and strange occurrences, lead Beatrice to want to help him escape whatever is controlling him. Will Beatrice be able to do what his previous wives were unable to do? Skyblue is a captivating and unpredictable tale that took me on a journey. At times, I didn't know who or what to root for and I rarely guess what would happen next. I wanted Dumas to be free. I wanted Beatrice to fine true love. And I wanted them to find it together. This is a no spoiler review, so I won't tell you if I got my wish, but I will tell you that I enjoyed this fantasica
