Our fast growing South African startup is looking to add an experienced Bubble developer who wants to help build the next big African startup. We’ve successfully founded and exited major fintech startups before, and we already have product market fit and early stage funding.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who wants to go beyond just contract work, but rather be involved with the team and work closely with everyone on how we prioritise and execute our ambitious goals.

About us

We’re building a modern, easy-to-use HR and Payroll platform for small businesses. Initially, this means we’re processing payroll and payslips for thousands of employees, but as we expand this also includes offering other integrated financial services to these small businesses and their employees.

We’ve proven product-market fit and we’re growing fast, in a very competitive space. The team is small and our tools are primarily Bubble and Webflow. 

About you (the ideal candidate!)

You’re an experienced and curious Bubble developer, and equally comfortable on the front end as you are on the backend / workflows side of things. Although our app is rooted in Bubble, if you have experience connecting APIs (/ Postman) that’s a huge bonus: as we grow an increasing number of our new features will rely on APIs too so being comfortable with traditional coding is really useful.

Although we’re based in Cape Town, South Africa, we’re open to remote developers. We’d prefer you to be within a 2 hour timezone from SA (in other words: between GMT and GMT +4). 

You need to be able to demonstrate previous Bubble apps that you’ve built, and show real experience. We’re not looking for junior devs for this role: instead we want someone that can ship working builds and help debug complex systems in a reasonable time.

Requirements

• At least 1 year full-time (or 3 years part-time) experience building demonstrable apps on Bubble
• Experience with back-end and front-end development outside Bubble is a plus.
• Proven skills building and improving cloud applications
• Database administration - you have a firm understanding of database architecture
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• At least three years of related professional experience

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience using online tools for project management and communication.
