I have been experimenting 🧪 with LinkedIn's new feature Collaborative Articles 🗞 over the past few months. Yesterday, I got to participate in their "Collaborative Articles Day" based in NYC 🏙 and virtual. A big shout out 🎉 and thank you to Sohyung Kang Leah Shin Laura Lorenzetti Brett Jansen Temi Obaisi, MPA, and Travis Johnson who orchestrated a wonderful learning and networking experience. And CONGRATS 🍾 on this amazing product. Here are a few tidbits of learning from the day; ✅ Add a comment with specific relevant examples ✅ Be consistent (and get upvotes) to win a top voice badge recognition for a specific category ✅ Pick a few categories to match your expertise ✅ Invite your friends to contribute. They will thank you for it. ( "Be the friend first" philosophy here!) ✅ Make your contributions high quality and generate value for the reader In the future, we will see expansion and improvement of this product, including more visibility, recognition, and connectivity to our profiles, I am adding this type of commenting to my daily routine. What about you? Have you tried commenting on a collaborative article? Do you plan to? -------------------------------------- #linkedin #collaborativearticlesday #creator Sandra Long Post Road Consulting: LinkedIn and Social Selling Training
Thanks for this feedback, definitely something I'd like to learn more about and contribute to.
Thank you Sandra Long for attending and contributing and giving great feedback. I’m so happy you learned from the experience and we’re looking forward to building better products for you and everyone else!
"And get upvotes" is a cool way to say this is becoming a popularity contest. I think it will be important for folks to focus on high-quality content and let the up votes follow. Otherwise it will be totally abused.
I have done it once so far. LinkedIn needs to improve discovery for both people reading and for contributors. Only had one really good one that it surfaced that I felt compelled to contribute to.

1yI’ve been contributing to collaborative articles—particularly on the topic of writing—but have not seen anything indicating who requested my participation. Is it the algo? They are an enjoyable way to contribute since writing a paragraph is a small ask. Kind of distracting though
